Statement of Beliefs

Last revised - December 24, 2005
While this is a basic statement of our fundamental beliefs it is not a final or conclusive list.

We believe that:
God the Father is Supreme and Eternal.
  • NLT 1 Corinthians 8:6 But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.
  • TNK Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains came into being, before You brought forth the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity You are God.
  • NKJ Psalm 93:2 Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.
  • NLT Psalm 45:6 Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. Your royal power is expressed in justice.
The Word became Jesus Christ, the Son of God the Father.
  • KJV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . .
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  • NLT 2 Peter 1:17 And he received honor and glory from God the Father when God's glorious, majestic voice called down from heaven, "This is my beloved Son; I am fully pleased with him."
  • NKJ John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

NLT Matthew 22:36 "Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?" 37 Jesus replied, " 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."

The 10 Commandments is God’s law for mankind.

  • Exodus 20:1-17
    • Including: NKJ Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day (Saturday) is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
  • NLT Matthew 5:17 "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them. 18 I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear, even the smallest detail of God's law will remain until its purpose is achieved. . . NLT Matthew 5:21 "You have heard that the law of Moses says, 'Do not murder.  If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.' 22 But I say, if you are angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the high council. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. . .
  • NAS 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
Sin is the transgression of the Law.
  • KJV 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
The penalty of sin is death.
  • KJV Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
  • NKJ Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Christ died sinless as the perfect sacrifice for all of mankind for atoning and reconciliation of man to God the Father.
  • RSV John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  • NKJ Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • KJV Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  • NLT Hebrews 2:10 And it was only right that God-- who made everything and for whom everything was made-- should bring his many children into glory. Through the suffering of Jesus, God made him a perfect leader, one fit to bring them into their salvation.
  • NKJ Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
The holy convocations listed in scripture are to be observed.
  • Leviticus 23:1-44
  • NKJ Leviticus 23:2 'The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.
  • NAS 1 Corinthians 5:7 Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. 8 Let us therefore celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
  • KJV Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
  • NIV Zechariah 14:16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
Everyone will be given the opportunity for salvation and eternal life.
  • NKJ 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
There is no thought or consciousness in death.
  • NKJ Psalm 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; In the grave who will give You thanks?
  • NIV Psalm 31:17 Let me not be put to shame, O LORD, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and lie silent in the grave.
  • NLT Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.
  • NKJ 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
All people who have ever lived and died will be raised from the dead!
  • NAS John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, 29 and shall come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.
  • NKJ Revelation 20:13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
  • KJV 1 Corinthians 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Conclusion:
  • NLT 1 Peter 1:3 All honor to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is by his boundless mercy that God has given us the privilege of being born again. Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead.
